Bralen Trice: Delay in His Debut with the Falcons

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – Atlanta Falcons defensive end Bralen Trice will have to wait to make his regular season debut. Trice, selected in the third round of the 2024 draft, was placed on the injured reserve list on Thursday. Falcons head coach Raheem Morris reported that Trice suffered a new knee injury, which required surgery last summer and prevented him from playing his entire rookie season.

Although the Falcons kept Trice on the 53-man roster this week, which would allow him to return after Week 4, Morris indicated that Trice may need another knee surgery.

We have to determine what the situation is. He’s working on it right now and doing some things, so we’ll see what happens in the next few weeks, or in the next few days, whatever is necessary for him.

Trice, 24, accumulated 16 sacks in his last two years at the University of Washington, and was considered a high-energy pass rusher coming out of college, someone who could help the Falcons improve their ability to get to the quarterback. This summer, Trice earned a spot in the defensive end rotation alongside rookies James Pearce Jr., Jalon Walker, Arnold Ebiketie, and Leonard Floyd. In a move related to Trice’s situation, the Falcons re-signed safety Jordan Fuller. Fuller, a veteran who won a Super Bowl with Morris with the Rams, was with Atlanta in training camp but was released earlier in the week.
