Historic Salary Increase for Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders

FRISCO, Texas – The Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders have achieved a significant salary increase, according to revelations from the second season of the Netflix series “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders”. The salary increase is 400%, a milestone for the animation team.

“Our efforts were heard and they wanted to give us a raise. And we ended up getting a 400% raise, which is, like, life-changing”.

Megan McElaney, Four-year Veteran
This salary increase comes after years of struggle by the cheerleaders. In 2019, the Cowboys settled a lawsuit with a former cheerleader, which led to a doubling of the per-game pay, from $200 to $400. This recent increase represents a substantial improvement over previous negotiations. Nine years ago, the Cowboys agreed to pay four cheerleaders a total of $2.4 million to settle accusations that the team’s public relations chief, Rich Dalrymple, had filmed them in the locker room. Dalrymple denied the accusations and the club stated that its investigation found no wrongdoing on his part. Dalrymple retired shortly before the agreement was made public in 2022. The Cowboys have been the world’s most valuable professional sports team for nearly a decade, according to Forbes magazine, with a valuation of $10.1 billion in the rankings published late last year.

“‘Happy’ isn’t even the right word to describe it. I think I felt relief, like it had all been worth it. And it was, you know, finally, we were done fighting”.
