Washington Commanders: Noah Brown to Injured Reserve

The Washington Commanders have placed wide receiver Noah Brown on the injured reserve list. This decision comes four weeks after Brown suffered a groin injury, depriving the team of a potential key player for the offense. Brown was injured during the Week 2 loss against the Green Bay Packers. Although it seemed he was close to returning, after practicing for two days, he did not participate in Saturday’s practice before Monday’s game against the Chicago Bears. Coach Dan Quinn reported that wide receiver Terry McLaurin, who has been absent for the last three games due to a right quadriceps injury, will participate in Wednesday’s practice. Quinn indicated that his status will be evaluated later this week, ahead of Sunday’s game against Dallas. In addition, receiver Treylon Burks will visit Washington today, according to a source. Burks was a first-round pick by Tennessee in 2022 but was released by the team on October 7. Burks suffered a fractured collarbone on July 26 and a torn ACL during the 2024 season. In Brown’s case, Washington initially chose not to place him on the injured reserve list, anticipating his return in four weeks.

It wasn’t a setback, it just didn’t respond as expected. Hindsight is 20-20, but the main thing is that he’s okay.

In the first two games, Brown had three receptions for 36 yards. In 11 games last season, Brown accumulated 35 receptions for 453 yards and a touchdown. He also drew six defensive pass interference penalties in 2024, ranking second in the NFL.
