Colts Sign Xavien Howard: Luxury Reinforcement for the Defense

1 Min Read

Four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Xavien Howard has signed with the Indianapolis Colts, his agent announced on Monday. David Canter made the announcement via a post on X. Howard, 32, did not play last season after being released by the Miami Dolphins the previous year, a team with which he shone for eight seasons. The arrival of Howard comes at a time when the Colts have suffered a series of key injuries at the cornerback position, which has significantly diminished their depth. Additionally, Howard has a history with Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who was the Dolphins’ defensive backs coach during Howard’s first two seasons in the NFL. Selected in the second round by Miami in 2016, Howard was also All-Pro in 2020, a season in which he led the NFL with 10 interceptions and 20 passes defended. In his career, Howard has 29 interceptions and 95 passes defended.
