Colts Bolster Defense with Germaine Pratt Acquisition

Indianapolis — The Colts have secured the services of free agent linebacker Germaine Pratt, just two days after he was unexpectedly released by the Las Vegas Raiders. Pratt had signed a one-year contract with the Raiders during the offseason, but his time with the team was cut short after only four games. He was left inactive in last Sunday’s loss against the Colts and did not travel with the team to Indianapolis. This incorporation marks a reunion of Pratt with Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who coached him during his time with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Veteran experience. He’s been in the system. So, obviously, Germaine is familiar with what we do defensively. From what I’ve heard, he’s a very intelligent and physical player.

The Colts have been looking for a second linebacker to complement Zaire Franklin in the middle of their defense. Joe Bachie, who has started every game this season, was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday.
