CeeDee Lamb ready to return to the Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has confirmed his return to the team for the upcoming game against the Washington Commanders, after recovering from a high left ankle sprain. Lamb, who missed the last three matches due to injury, has been training in a limited capacity, but feels ready to return to action.

“I feel good, moving and running like always,” Lamb declared. “I am happy and confident in my ankle. I feel like it is how it needed to be.”

The receiver commented that he could have played last week against the Carolina Panthers, but preferred to take an extra week to ensure his full recovery and regain his explosiveness and stability. Lamb’s injury occurred in the first half of the Week 3 game against the Chicago Bears. Despite his absence, the Cowboys’ offense has maintained a high performance, with Dak Prescott leading the attack.

“There’s a lot of excitement with Lamb’s return,” Prescott said. “He looks good in practice. He’s ready to play. It’ll be fun.”

Before his injury, Lamb had two games with over 100 yards. If he gains 51 yards against the Commanders, he would reach 7,000 career yards, achieving this milestone in 85 games, the fastest time in team history. Lamb is also looking to extend his streak of three consecutive seasons with 100 receptions and 1,000 yards.

“I missed playing and being with my teammates,” Lamb expressed.

The combination of Lamb and George Pickens, who has scored touchdowns in five consecutive games, could elevate the level of the offense. The versatility of both players will allow for the creation of favorable matchups for the team. “Having two players like them and being able to place them wherever we want in each play will only benefit us,” Prescott concluded.
