FRISCO, Texas – After the Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, where CeeDee Lamb, wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, had three dropped passes, including two in the final quarter, he confessed to having trouble sleeping. Approximately eight hours after the Cowboys returned to Texas, during the players’ day off, Lamb was at The Star, practicing catching passes with a Jugs machine.

“That wasn’t supposed to go viral. To be honest, I wasn’t doing that for the internet,” Lamb said. “So I came one day when there was nobody in the building, and I still got caught on camera. I didn’t even know the camera was there. Shout out to them. As for me, brother, it’s about getting back to my fundamentals. I know what it is. I know what to do. Again, it’s the first game, we have 16 more of these.”

The next opportunity comes on Sunday against the New York Giants at AT&T Stadium. In 10 games against NFC East rivals, Lamb has 61 receptions for 859 yards and four touchdowns. Three of his 24 career 100-yard games have been against the Giants.

“I really didn’t rest all weekend,” Lamb said. “Again, that’s the competitor I am and how much I give to the game, being honest and giving it my all because I love this game, I love this team, and I love the guys I play with. As for me, I’m just doing my part and pushing myself for the guys.”

CeeDee LambLamb sent a text message to Dak Prescott telling the quarterback that he played a great game and, “I didn’t do my part, but trust me. Stay with me and I’ll cover you.” Prescott’s response: “I’m not going to stop throwing you the ball.”

“It wasn’t the best day. It wasn’t the best day for CeeDee. It’s understandable. It happens. Hell, I’ve had them too, right? We’ve all had them,” Prescott said. “…I’m not going to lose confidence in Lamb. So don’t worry, keep approaching things the way you are, and you’re going to have a bounce back and plenty of them.”

According to data, Lamb has never had consecutive games with multiple fumbles in his career. In the six combined games after a game with multiple fumbles, he has 36 receptions for 429 yards and three touchdowns.

Their focus for this week is not to think about the game against the Eagles.

“Just relax. Breathe deeply,” Lamb said. “Let the game come to me and then, when it does, take control. Obviously it’s easy to say and harder to do, but for me, I feel like if I keep it that simple, it will work.”

CeeDee LambAnd if the game is close in the last quarter, he wants the ball.

“I’d prefer no one but me be in those situations,” Lamb said. “I didn’t hold up my end once. We’ll see the rest.”
