Caleb Williams Remains Unfazed by Criticism After Bears Victory

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has downplayed criticism received after his team’s victory on “Monday Night Football”.

“People like to have opinions,” Williams said after the Bears extended their winning streak to three games. “Win or lose, people always have something to say. It doesn’t matter. We only care about what happens in here, with these guys.”

Williams responded to comments about his performance, which was described as “inconsistent” during the “Monday Night Football” broadcast. Analyst Troy Aikman suggested that Williams needed to improve the accuracy of his passes so that receivers would gain more yards after the reception. In the game against the Washington Commanders, Williams threw a short pass to D’Andre Swift, who ran 55 yards for a touchdown. Aikman commented that a missed tackle by the Commanders’ Quan Martin contributed to the play.

“It was a bit of luck for the Chicago,” Aikman said during the broadcast. “It really wasn’t a planned play, but it turned into that because of how they defended”.

Williams, jokingly, reacted to Aikman’s comments in a social media post.

Bears coach Ben Johnson also addressed the criticism, pointing out that any win is important in the league. Williams did not meet with the “Monday Night Football” broadcast team before the game against the Commanders due to a scheduling conflict. A source revealed that Williams also did not participate in meetings with the broadcast team before the Bears’ appearance on “MNF” in Week 1. It is considered “very rare” for starting quarterbacks not to meet with the broadcast team. Williams anticipates that perceived criticisms will be a source of motivation for the future.
