Browns Bolster Quarterback Position with Tyler Huntley

The Cleveland Browns have secured the services of quarterback Tyler Huntley, according to sources close to the team. This acquisition seeks to strengthen the quarterback position, especially in light of recent injuries that have affected several key players. The decision comes at a crucial moment, as the Browns are in the midst of an internal competition for the starting position. Joe Flacco is the only quarterback who has not presented physical problems.
  • Kenny Pickett: Has been limited in training due to a hamstring injury.
  • Dillon Gabriel: Also affected by a hamstring issue, which limited his participation.
  • Shedeur Sanders: Although initially absent from some practices due to arm discomfort, he has already rejoined full activities.
The Browns are preparing to hold joint practices in Charlotte with the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday, before their first preseason game on Friday. The Browns coach, Kevin Stefanski, mentioned that the team is still defining its plans for joint practices and the preseason game. Huntley, 27, already had a brief stint with the Browns during last year’s training camp. Although he was initially included on the 53-man roster, he was released after a trade did not materialize. Subsequently, Huntley signed with the Miami Dolphins, where he recorded a 2-3 record in five starts. In addition, the Browns have Deshaun Watson, who is on the physically unable to perform list due to a right Achilles tendon injury, which is expected to keep him out of action for much of the 2025 season.
