Cowboys and Steelers in Negotiations for a Trade
Sources close to the situation report that the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers are in the final stages of a trade agreement. This move would send wide receiver George Pickens to Dallas in exchange for draft picks.
The exchange is expected to be finalized on Wednesday.
This agreement comes just as Pickens is in the final year of his rookie contract and is eligible for an extension.
In February, Steelers general manager Omar Khan had expressed his desire to reach an agreement with Pickens, but it ultimately appears they will opt to go their separate ways.

Pickens, 24, had a standout season in 2023, accumulating 59 receptions for 900 yards and three touchdowns. During his three seasons with the Steelers, he consistently surpassed 50 receptions, 800 yards, and three touchdowns.
This would be the second time in six months that the Cowboys acquire a wide receiver via a trade.
In November, the Dallas team incorporated Jonathan Mingo and a seventh-round pick from the 2025 draft from the Carolina Panthers, in exchange for a fourth-round pick from the 2025 draft. Mingo participated in eight games with the Cowboys, achieving five receptions for a total of 46 yards.
