Pete Carmichael Joins Bills’ Coaching Staff as Offensive Coordinator
The Buffalo Bills have finalized the hiring of Pete Carmichael as their new offensive coordinator, according to sources close to the team. Carmichael becomes the first coordinator to be hired for the coaching staff led by coach Joe Brady. In addition, he will have the responsibility of selecting the defensive and special teams coordinators. Although Brady will be in charge of the offensive plays, Carmichael brings vast experience as a coordinator, accumulated over 15 years with the Saints, currently serving as the senior offensive assistant for the Denver Broncos. Brady, who was the Bills’ offensive coordinator for the last two seasons under coach Sean McDermott, worked with Carmichael for two seasons as an offensive assistant with the Saints, marking his first NFL job.The new Bills head coach also indicated that some coaches from the previous Bills staff will remain on the team, although he did not specify which ones.If we have a lot of Joe Bradys in the room, we are not going to grow and we are not going to evolve, and that is important to me.
