Trae Young, the standout figure for the Atlanta Hawks, took advantage of the recent playoff day to fuel the rivalry with the New York Knicks, despite not facing them in the postseason.

During the seventh game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets, Young used the X platform to subtly hint at Knicks fans.

The Hawks’ point guard praised the Thunder fans, stating that their support was louder than that of the Knicks fans, with whom Young has maintained a constant interaction.

Young and the Knicks have been involved in an intense rivalry since the 2021 postseason.

On that occasion, Atlanta defeated New York in five games in the first round of the Eastern Conference. Young celebrated the victory in the fifth game, even performing a bow on the opposing court.

The tension between both teams remained, and at Christmas, the Knicks, despite Young’s absence, dedicated chants against him during a game.

Recently, following the Hawks’ victory over the Knicks in the NBA Emirates Cup quarterfinals, Young taunted fans by “rolling the dice” on the Madison Square Garden court.

In the regular season, New York defeated Atlanta with a score of 3-2.

This season, the Hawks and Young failed to qualify for the playoffs, losing both play-in tournament games. On the other hand, the Knicks are in the Eastern Conference Finals, a stage they hadn’t reached since the 1999-2000 season.
