Thunder’s Jalen Williams Out with Muscle Injury
Oklahoma City Thunder star forward Jalen Williams has been diagnosed with a right hamstring strain and will not participate in Monday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, which will be played away.
The Thunder have not specified the severity of Williams’ injury nor have they provided an estimated timeframe for his return to the courts.
Williams, who was selected for the All-NBA team last season, suffered the injury during the second quarter of Saturday’s loss to the Miami Heat.
The player missed the first 19 games of this season while recovering from surgery on his right wrist, an operation he postponed until after Oklahoma City’s outstanding participation.
In the 24 games he has played, Williams has averaged 16.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists for the Thunder, who currently lead the NBA with a 35-8 record.
