Sochan, Spurs, Out with Sprain: Misses NBA Debut vs Mavericks

Jeremy Sochan will miss the start of the season with the Spurs

San Antonio Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan will not be available for the season opener against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday due to a sprained left wrist.

Sochan suffered the injury during a workout on Wednesday, in a 5-on-5 practice, while preparing to return from a calf strain.

The calf injury occurred in August, during a training session with the Polish national team. This injury prevented him from participating in the EuroBasket tournament and the Spurs’ preseason.

The Spurs will also start the season without De’Aaron Fox, who is in the process of recovering from a hamstring strain. Both Fox and Sochan are expected to return for the second or third game of the season.

In the last season, Sochan averaged 11.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 54 games.
