Paul George will miss the start of the season with the 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers star, Paul George, will not be available for the season opener, as he recovers from knee surgery performed during the summer, according to sources close to the team. Although George has shown significant progress in his recovery, he still needs to meet certain requirements before being able to participate in a regular season game. His debut is expected to occur shortly after the start of the season. The nine-time NBA All-Star underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in July after suffering an injury during a workout. A reevaluation was expected in September. George played only 41 games last season, after signing a four-year, $212 million maximum contract with Philadelphia in the summer of 2024. Last season, George faced several physical problems, including injections in his left adductor and left knee, which led him to end his participation in March. The 6’8″ forward averaged 16.2 points last season, his lowest average since the 2014-15 campaign, in which he only played six games. George has only played more than 56 games in a season once since the 2018-19 season.
