Kelly Oubre Jr. Will Exercise Player Option and Continue with the 76ers

Philadelphia 76ers forward Kelly Oubre Jr. has decided to exercise his player option for $8.4 million for next season, according to sources. This decision ensures his return to the team for the upcoming campaign.

Oubre, 29, consolidated a solid 2023-24 season with the Sixers, surpassing himself in the last year. He averaged 15.1 points per game with 47% field goal efficiency. He started in 57 of the 60 games he played, becoming a key piece in the Sixers’ starting lineup, which was affected by numerous injuries.

A right knee injury kept him off the court for the last month of the season, while the 76ers were looking to improve their position in the standings to secure their 2025 draft pick.

In his eleventh season in the NBA, Oubre has played for the Hornets, Wizards, Suns, Sixers, and Warriors since being selected 15th in the 2015 draft.
