New York Knicks guard Landry Shamet will be re-evaluated in four weeks due to a sprain in his right shoulder.
The injury occurred during the first quarter of last Saturday’s game against the Magic.
Shamet collided with a defensive screen by Orlando’s Wendell Carter Jr., forcing him to leave the game with obvious signs of pain.
The player has already started his rehabilitation process.
Shamet has stood out as one of the best three-point shooters in the league this season, averaging 42.4% from beyond the arc, which earned him a spot in the starting lineup before the injury.
Before the shoulder injury, Shamet was at his best of the season, scoring in double figures in four consecutive games, including a 36-point performance in the 140-132 victory against Miami. His double-digit streak was interrupted by scoring nine points in 23 minutes in the victory against Dallas last Wednesday.
The Knicks will face the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night before returning home to host the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night at Madison Square Garden.
