Knicks Guard Landry Shamet Out with Shoulder Injury
New York Knicks guard Landry Shamet will be reevaluated in four weeks due to a sprain in his right shoulder.
The injury occurred during the first quarter of Saturday’s game against the Orlando Magic, after a collision with a screen by Wendell Carter Jr.
Shamet, visibly affected, left the court and did not return to the game. Sources close to the team indicate that the rehabilitation process has already begun.
This season, Shamet has stood out as one of the best three-point shooters in the league, averaging 42.4% from the three-point line, the best of his career. This earned him a place in the starting lineup before the injury.
Before the injury, Shamet was in his best form of the season, scoring in double figures in four consecutive games, including an outstanding performance of 36 points in the 140-132 victory against Miami. His streak was interrupted by scoring nine points in 23 minutes in the victory against Dallas last Wednesday.
The Knicks secured a victory in Charlotte on Wednesday night and are now preparing to host the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday at Madison Square Garden.
