Jason Kidd Secures His Future with the Mavericks
Coach Jason Kidd has signed a multi-year contract extension with the Dallas Mavericks, the team announced this Tuesday. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.Dumont added that Kidd embodies everything the organization looks for in a leader and expressed his joy at his permanence on the team. They trust that Kidd will continue to guide the team with dedication and principles, with the aim of bringing more championships to Dallas. This extension comes after the interest shown by the New York Knicks in Kidd, before they hired Mike Brown to fill their coaching vacancy. The Mavericks denied the Knicks’ request to interview Kidd, who has a record of 179-149 during his four years in Dallas. Under Kidd’s direction, the Mavericks reached the Western Conference finals in 2022 and the NBA Finals in 2024.“Our entire organization deeply appreciates Coach Kidd’s leadership, focus, and positive energy,” said team governor Patrick Dumont.
