Michael Jordan, basketball legend and businessman, has made a significant donation in honor of his mother. The former NBA player has donated $10 million to the Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina.
A Gesture in Memory of Deloris Jordan
The donation will allow the medical center to name its neuroscience institute in honor of Deloris Jordan.Jordan’s contribution will support his mother’s work in health and wellness, facilitating access to specialists, technology, and medical care for patients with problems such as strokes, spinal treatments, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and other conditions. Deloris Jordan, founder and president of the James R. Jordan Foundation and its international foundation, has overseen programs in the United States and Africa. The dedication ceremony will take place in early 2026 at the Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center.My mother taught me the importance of compassion and community, and I can’t think of a better way to honor her than by helping to ensure that those in need can get the most advanced neurological care available.
