Hawks Send Kobe Bufkin to the Nets

The Atlanta Hawks have finalized a trade that sends guard Kobe Bufkin to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for cash considerations, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Bufkin, selected 15th overall in the 2023 NBA draft by the Hawks, has a salary of $5.4 million for this season, and a team option for $6.9 million for the 2026-27 season.

This move gives the Hawks more flexibility in their roster, as well as generating a $4.5 million trade exception. For Bufkin, 21, it represents a new opportunity in Brooklyn.

Following this trade, the Nets have $11.6 million in cap space and have 15 players with guaranteed contracts.

In the last two seasons, Bufkin played in 27 games with the Hawks. In the G League, during the 2023-24 season, he averaged 23.6 points in 14 games.
