Hawks Trade Kobe Bufkin to the Nets
The Atlanta Hawks have finalized a deal to trade guard Kobe Bufkin to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for financial considerations, according to sources close to the situation.
Bufkin, selected 15th overall in the 2023 NBA draft, has a salary of $5.4 million for next season. In addition, he has a team option for $6.9 million for the 2026-27 season.
This operation gives the Hawks greater flexibility in their roster, as well as generating a trade exception of $4.5 million. For Bufkin, 21 years old, it represents a new opportunity in Brooklyn.
The Nets, for their part, have $11.6 million in salary space after this move, with 15 players under guaranteed contracts on their roster.
In his two seasons with the Hawks, Bufkin played in 27 games. In the G League, he averaged 23.6 points in 14 games during the 2023-24 season.
