The NBA expands its borders and announces the celebration of at least six regular season games in Europe over the next three seasons. The initiative, which seeks to bring elite basketball closer to European fans, will begin with two exciting matches between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Orlando Magic. The first match will take place in Berlin on January 15, followed by a match in London on January 18. The NBA plans to play in Manchester, England, and Paris in the 2026-27 season, and will return to Berlin and Paris in the 2027-28 season. The games will be played at the Uber Arena in Berlin, the O2 in London, the Co-op Live in Manchester, and the Accor Arena in Paris. The Berlin game in January will be the 14th NBA game in Germany since 1984, but the first regular season game in the country. This event will be special for Magic players Franz and Moritz Wagner, both members of the German national team.Announcing the regular season games for the next three seasons in Europe reflects the incredible momentum and appetite for NBA basketball in France, Germany, the United Kingdom and throughout the region. We look forward to welcoming the Grizzlies and the Magic to Berlin and London, and to engaging fans, players and local communities through the games and the events surrounding them.
George Aivazoglou, NBA Managing Director for Europe and the Middle East.
The London game this season will be the tenth regular season game in that city. Manchester has never hosted a regular season game, and Paris has hosted five regular season games, including two last season between the Indiana Pacers and the San Antonio Spurs. The complete NBA schedule for the 2025-26 season is expected to be released in mid-August. The dates and participating teams for the 2027 and 2028 games will be announced before the 2026-27 and 2027-28 NBA seasons, respectively. That the Orlando Magic and the NBA are playing a regular season game in our hometown, Berlin, means everything to us. We grew up here, dreaming of moments like this. It’s a great honor to represent Berlin and Germany and to show how much the city and the country love basketball. We hope to be able to inspire children in the same way that we were inspired by watching games from afar.
