Giannis Antetokounmpo Envisions Retirement in Greece
The Milwaukee Bucks star, Giannis Antetokounmpo, has expressed his desire to end his basketball career playing for a Greek team, once he retires from the NBA. The two-time MVP is preparing to start his 13th season with the Bucks, after a summer in which it was rumored that he was evaluating his options. Antetokounmpo is under contract for the next two seasons, before he can become a free agent in the summer of 2027.Antetokounmpo also added: “I don’t want to live in the United States. As soon as I leave the NBA, I want to return to Greece.” The player, originally from Athens, Greece, began his professional career with Filathlitikos. He played two seasons for the Greek B league team before being selected in the 2013 NBA draft. Antetokounmpo mentioned that he could end his career on any Greek team, including Filathlitikos, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, or Aris.“I am 30 years old, I can play in the NBA until 36-38. I would like to end my career in a Greek team, why not?”, Antetokounmpo stated on ANT1’s “The 2night Show”.
