Giannis Antetokounmpo Visualizes His Future: Greece on the Horizon

The Milwaukee Bucks star, Giannis Antetokounmpo, has revealed his plans for the end of his basketball career. The two-time NBA MVP expressed his desire to play for a Greek team after his retirement from the American league. Antetokounmpo, who is preparing for his thirteenth season with the Bucks, reflected on his options after a summer of important decisions. The player is under contract for the next two seasons, opening up the possibility of becoming a free agent in the summer of 2027.

“I am 30 years old, I can play in the NBA until I’m 36-38. I would like to finish my career in a Greek team, why not? I don’t want to live in the United States. As soon as I leave the NBA, I want to return to Greece,” Antetokounmpo declared.

The player, originally from Athens, Greece, began his professional career with Filathlitikos. He played two seasons with the Greek B league team before being selected in the 2013 NBA draft. Antetokounmpo is considering the possibility of playing for several Greek teams, including Filathlitikos, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, and Aris.
