Kyle Filipowski Shines in Summer League and Becomes MVP
Utah Jazz player Kyle Filipowski has been awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the NBA Summer League, marking a milestone for the franchise. Filipowski, a 6’11” power forward from Duke, led the league with an average of 29.3 points per game in three games. In addition, he added 7.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists, demonstrating his versatility on the court. His shooting efficiency was notable, with a 56.1% success rate on field goals and 39.1% from the three-point line. His most outstanding performance in the summer league was against San Antonio on July 14, where he accumulated 35 points and 11 rebounds.Filipowski seeks to use his experience in the summer league as a springboard for his role with the Jazz in his second season in the NBA. In his rookie season with Utah, Filipowski participated in 72 games, starting 27. He averaged 9.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 21.2 minutes per game. At the end of the season, he was one of only two NBA rookies to total more than 650 points, 400 rebounds, and 100 assists.Obviously it’s different in the summer league versus (the regular season). I’m just trying to be myself out there right now. How that translates to the season, that’s how it’s going to be. I’m going to make the most of it that way.
