Jordan Clarkson Seeks New Destination After Agreement with Utah Jazz

Experienced player Jordan Clarkson is about to finalize a contract buyout agreement with the Utah Jazz, according to sources close to the situation. This will make him an unrestricted free agent, opening the door to new horizons in his career.

Clarkson, known for his scoring ability and impact off the bench, will look to join a team with title aspirations in his next move. Significant interest is expected from several teams competing in the playoffs.

In the past season, Clarkson averaged 16.2 points and 3.7 assists with the Jazz. Since his arrival at the team six seasons ago, he has established himself as one of the best scorers coming off the bench in the league, which earned him the Sixth Man of the Year award in the 2020-21 season.

Clarkson was the last remaining player from the previous Jazz era and the only member of the team who played in the 2022 playoffs. During the last seasons, his name was in trade rumors, but Utah ultimately did not find a team interested in his services.

In addition, the Jazz have also decided to cut small forward Johnny Juzang, who will also become a free agent.

Juzang, former UCLA star, arrived at Utah as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and played three seasons with the team. In the previous season, he averaged 8.9 points in 64 games, with 38% shooting from three-point range.

The Jazz are restructuring their roster after the draft, where they acquired two young and talented guards: Ace Bailey and Walter Clayton Jr. In addition, the team traded Collin Sexton to the Hornets in exchange for Jusuf Nurkic on Saturday.
