Ace Bailey breaks ties with his agent

Utah Jazz rookie forward Ace Bailey has decided to part ways with his representative, Omar Cooper, and is in the process of seeking new representation, according to sources close to him.

Bailey, selected in the fifth draft position by the Jazz, made this decision after an unusual selection process.

In June, it was reported that his representatives informed a team within the top five that they did not want him to be chosen, indicating that he would not show up if that happened.

Initially, it was believed that Bailey and his team expected him to be selected by the Washington Wizards, who had the sixth pick. However, Utah, under the direction of the new president of basketball operations, Austin Ainge, chose Bailey at the fifth spot, generating uncertainty about whether or not he would show up.

Finally, the former Rutgers star player showed up without any problems and participated in the summer league games with the Jazz.

Bailey averaged 17.6 points and 7.2 rebounds at Rutgers and is expected to compete for a starting position in Jazz coach Will Hardy’s lineup.

The news of Bailey and Cooper’s separation was initially reported.
