Yariel Rodriguez’s Lawyers Deny Information About Alleged Agent
Santo Domingo – The legal representatives of the renowned Major League pitcher, Yariel Rodríguez, have issued an official statement categorically denying the recent information that points to Raymel Martínez as his agent. The law firm Estrella & Tupete Abogados, in charge of the athlete’s defense, clarified that Martínez has never acted as Rodríguez’s agent. Likewise, they emphasized that the latter has not held the legal status of authorized agent of the player at any time during his professional career.Regarding the arbitration ruling mentioned by Martínez’s team, the lawyers explained that it is not final or binding. Furthermore, they pointed out that there is no obligation to pay in favor of Martínez. Therefore, Rodríguez’s defense argues that contempt cannot be spoken of, since there is no “final, binding, and immediately enforceable” decision, as has been erroneously disseminated. On the contrary, it was Yariel Rodríguez who initiated the arbitration action before the Court of Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution of the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santo Domingo, due to the contractual breach by Raymel Martínez. The player’s defense highlighted that the award is being challenged with an action for annulment before the competent court, due to the imprecision, lack of resolution, and absence of legal mandate in the decision. Finally, the lawyers pointed out that the recent statements and publications by Raymel Martínez and his circle show a clear intention to exert media pressure, involving third parties not related to the process, instead of respecting the established legal channels. In this regard, the corresponding legal actions are reserved to protect the integrity, reputation, and contractual rights of Yariel Rodríguez.Any statement to the contrary is unfounded and misrepresents the reality of the facts.
