SAFAMRD Ready for the XIV Ceremony of Immortalization

Santo Domingo – The Martial Arts Hall of Fame of the Dominican Republic (SAFAMRD) has confirmed that everything is ready for its XIV Ceremonial, where outstanding athletes will be honored with the “Bath of Immortality”. The event will take place this Sunday, November 30th, in the Hall of Fame of the Olympic Center, starting at 10:00 in the morning. This year, the ceremony will be dedicated to Master Miguel Peña, an emblematic figure in martial arts. The honorary president will be the renowned television entrepreneur and sportsman, Fernando Hasbún. The SAFAMRD Permanent Committee has expressed its satisfaction for completing months of work and welcoming the new members.

New Immortals of Martial Arts

A total of 14 athletes will be honored in this edition. Among the new members are:
  • Leidi Germán (Judo)
  • Ekers E. Raposo (Judo)
  • Félix Lebrón (Judo)
  • Abraham Tabar (Ju-Jitsu)
  • Miguel Abreu (Kung fu)
  • Alberto Moreta Mancebo (Karate)
  • Alcibíades Peña Escalante (Karate)
  • Edwin Beltré (Karate)
  • Juan Raúl Suazo Melenciano (Kung Fu)
  • Alejandro Serrallés (Ju-Jitsu)
  • José R. Del Rosario (Kung Fu)
  • José Manuel Silverio (Tae Kwon Do)
  • Jorge Amauri Guerrero (Tae Kwon Do)
  • Héctor Pilier (Tae Kwon Do promoter)
In addition, special recognition will be given to César Langa for his outstanding career in Judo. Tributes will also be paid to Arelis Brito, the Sabana Grande de Boyá School, and the Los Cachorros Sports and Cultural Club.
