This recovery process has led Wembanyama to renounce the Eurobasket that will begin on August 27, a decision made in conjunction with the French national team. The player emphasized the importance of not taking risks after such a serious health problem. During his time away from the courts, Wembanyama took the opportunity to travel and explore different cultures. He visited Costa Rica, Japan, and China, where he immersed himself in learning meditation and kung fu at the Shaolin monastery. “It was very hard. I discovered movements that we never make in our lives,” commented Wembanyama on his experience in the Shaolin monastery. Regarding his future in the NBA, Wembanyama expressed his desire to play his entire career for a single franchise, the Spurs. He also mentioned that he has not yet considered the contract extension he will be eligible for in a year.“If I had to play a game tomorrow, it would be risky.
