Vladimir Guerrero Jr. confirms his participation in the 2026 World Baseball Classic
The talented infielder Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has confirmed his participation in the next World Baseball Classic, which will be held from March 5 to 17, 2026 in Miami. The event will feature Albert Pujols as manager. Guerrero Jr., born in Canada, revealed in an interview with The Score the reasons that led him to make this decision and to represent the Dominican Republic in the tournament. The starting pitcher was previously registered with the Dominican team that competed in the 2023 edition, but a right knee injury sidelined him from the tournament a few days before the start.I was born in Canada, but I grew up in the Dominican Republic. My dad never went to a World Baseball Classic. As a child, he told me that I should represent the Dominican Republic if I ever had the opportunity, and I grew up with that idea. So I think I will play with the Dominican Republic, but maybe, if I don’t retire, someday I will play with Canada.
