Victor Liz Strengthens Santiago Metro for the LNB Semifinal
Santiago – Santiago’s fans are preparing to welcome their star. The stellar shooting guard and captain of the Dominican Republic National Basketball Team, Victor Liz, joins the Metros de Santiago this Sunday. His incorporation marks the beginning of the semifinal series of the National Basketball League (LNB), in a crucial match against the Indios de San Francisco de Macorís.
The announcement was made by the team’s Executive President, Rovin Rodríguez, who highlighted Liz’s return as a vital element of leadership and experience for this decisive phase of the tournament. Rodríguez stated that Liz’s commitment to Santiago and the team is undeniable.
Liz, who arrived in the country on Saturday, comes after a distinguished participation in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) of Puerto Rico, where she played for the Capitanes de Arecibo. During the 2025 regular season, in 30 games, she averaged 17.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. Her offensive efficiency was reflected in 45.5% in field goals, 33.2% in three-pointers, and a solid 80.1% in free throws, with an average of 29.7 minutes per game.
In addition to her numbers, Liz demonstrated her leadership on the court, being a key figure in the Puerto Rican team.
For this Sunday, the Metros will also feature the debut of American point guard Norris Cole, an NBA veteran who won two championships with the Miami Heat.
