Toros del Este roar with power against Gigantes del Cibao
La Romana – Los Toros del Este demonstrated their offensive power by defeating the Gigantes del Cibao with a score of 10-6 this Sunday at the Francisco A. Micheli Stadium, in the continuation of the Round Robin.
The Toros’ attack was led by Eloy Jiménez, Sergio Alcántara, and Bryan De La Cruz, who hit home runs to drive the victory.
Eloy Jiménez stood out with a home run and three RBIs, while Sergio Alcántara contributed a two-run homer and Bryan De La Cruz hit a solo home run.
The Toros scored their 10 runs with nine hits, including five extra-base hits, among them two doubles and three home runs, totaling five home runs this postseason.
This was Eloy Jiménez’s first home run in the Round Robin, extending his streak to four consecutive games driving in runs. In addition, he has hit in six of the seven games in which he has participated in this stage.
With this victory, the Bulls improved their record to 5-2, solidifying their position in second place in the standings and extending their lead over third place. They are only one game behind the leaders, occupied by the Leones del Escogido (6-1).
In the mound, Enny Romero (1-0) took the victory after pitching five innings, allowing three runs, four hits, one walk and striking out three batters. This was the best performance by a bullfighter starter in this Round Robin.

The Toros took the lead in the first inning thanks to a triple by Gilberto Celestino, followed by a sacrifice fly by Luis Liberato.
The Giants responded in the third inning with a three-run home run by Francisco Mejía, taking the lead 3-1.
The Bulls’ response was immediate, with Eloy Jiménez connecting a three-run home run to give the home team the lead again (4-3).
In the sixth episode, the Bulls extended their lead with a four-run rally, highlighting a double by Tres Barrera and a home run by Sergio Alcantara.
The Giants tried to get closer in the seventh, but Bryan De La Cruz connected his second home run of the Round Robin, securing the victory for the Toros.
