Liberato Leads Bullfighting Offensive in Victory over Tigres

La Romana – Luis Liberato had an outstanding performance with the bat, hitting a home run, a double, and a single, leading the Toros del Este to a 9-6 victory over the Tigres del Licey this Sunday at the Francisco A. Micheli Stadium. This triumph represents the 26th victory of the season for the Toros and the 14th at home, breaking a streak of five consecutive defeats. In addition, the Toros dominated the particular series against the Tigres with a score of 7-3, while the Licey now records a balance of 21-27. Liberato led the Bulls’ offense, connecting his first home run of the season, number 40 for the team, who lead the league in this aspect. The outfielder extended his offensive streak by hitting in six of his first seven games and added his third consecutive game driving in runs. From the mound, the victory went to reliever Greg Minier (2-0, 0.00), who pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out two batters. The loss went to starter César Valdez (2-1, 4.38), who allowed four runs and five hits in 2.1 innings.
