Estrellas Orientales: Fernando Tatis Sr. leaves the team’s direction
Santo Domingo – Las Estrellas Orientales announced this Saturday the departure of Fernando Tatis Sr. as manager of the team, a decision that comes after the strong criticism of the leader towards the attitude of some players in the Dominican Baseball League (Lidom). The news was confirmed by the team’s management, who made the decision with the aim of maintaining the group’s cohesion in the middle of the season. In the program Mañana Deportiva, Tatis expressed his frustration with the behavior of certain players, calling current baseball a game of “sissies.” He stated that managers and coaches have become “nannies” and that some players avoid playing due to physical discomfort, preferring to take care of themselves for other leagues. His statements caused discomfort in part of the green roster, which led the management to make this decision. Carlos Paulino, bank coach, will temporarily assume the functions of manager while the management defines the future of the club. Las Estrellas also thanked Tatis Sr. for his work and dedication.“Fernando Tatis is no longer the team’s manager, a decision made after the dissatisfaction expressed by several players regarding his recent public statements,” the team stated in a statement issued this Saturday.
