Oviedo, Spain – The iconic American tennis player Serena Williams was warmly welcomed this Thursday in Oviedo, where she is preparing to receive the prestigious Princess of Asturias Award for Sports 2025. This award recognizes her impressive professional career and her tireless fight for gender equality. During a press conference held at the Hotel de la Reconquista, Williams shared his admiration for the Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, whom he described as “a young player with a bright future”.
The world’s number one showed conviction that Alcaraz has the potential to surpass the records of legends like Djokovic, Nadal and Federer.
