Santiago Metro Remains Unbeaten in the LNB
SANTIAGO – Los Metros de Santiago achieved a crucial victory over the Soles del Este with a final score of 101-95, extending their undefeated streak in the exciting competition of the LNB Super League. The match, full of intensity, took place in the Oscar Gobaira Arena.
With this triumph, the Metros consolidate their position with a 2-0 record at the start of the 2026 season, while the Soles del Este experienced their first defeat of the tournament.
Jordan Hall led the Metros’ offense with an outstanding performance of 22 points. Anthony Fairley contributed 21 units. Troy Cracknell added 16 points, including four three-pointers, and Jordan Gerónimo contributed 14 points. Florent Thamba dominated the paint with 11 points and 14 rebounds, and Adris De León distributed 12 assists.
By the Soles, Terry Larrier stood out with 18 points and Tristan Jarrett scored 17. Daruin Rosario added 14 points, Jonathan Bello contributed 13 and Jean Quezada achieved a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
The Metros took the lead from the first quarter (28-22), thanks to Cracknell’s accuracy, and maintained the advantage at halftime (51-47), despite the Suns’ reaction. In the third period, they widened the gap, but the Suns tied the score 80-80 in the last quarter with a three-pointer by Jarrett.
A 13-4 run in the final minutes, capped by a play from Cracknell, secured the victory for the Santiago team, who closed with defensive solidity.
During halftime, the Metros paid tribute to Manuel Guzmán, who announced his retirement after 22 years of experience in Dominican basketball.
The day will continue with the Marineros de Puerto Plata facing the Cañeros del Este, while the Reales de La Vega will visit the Gigantes Basketball Club.
