Dominican Republic Returns to the World Top 10 in Baseball

Santo Domingo – The Dominican Republic celebrates its re-entry into the group of the ten best nations in the world in baseball, according to the recent update of the World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC) World Ranking, published on Wednesday, July 23. The Caribbean country managed to move up one position in the global ranking, after having finished 2024 in the number 11 position after its participation in the Premier 12.

We have worked hard to improve in the World Ranking. The Dominican Republic has progressed significantly, especially in the minor categories, where we have relentlessly focused.

Núñez Nepomuceno expressed his satisfaction with the results of the work carried out by the federation, highlighting the focus on youth categories throughout the national territory. The leader emphasized the importance of maintaining the effort to continue climbing positions.

Being back among the top ten nations in the world indicates that we must persevere, continue with the hard work in all development tournaments, as we have been doing, thanks to the effort of great men and women dedicated to baseball.

The president of Fedom also pointed out the importance of continuing to develop the U6, U8, and U12 categories, in addition to focusing on improving in the scoring categories such as U12, with special attention to the U15, U18, and U23 categories. In the latter, the country seeks to improve its results. Currently, the Dominican Republic is in Tainan, Taiwan, participating in the WBSC U-12 World Cup 2025. This event is crucial for the world ranking. The team will seek to earn points from July 25 to August 3, with the aim of climbing the ranking and obtaining the champion title.
