San Cristóbal witnessed an exciting semifinal day in the 2025 Superior Basketball Tournament (TBS), where passion and intensity were experienced in every play. Pueblo Nuevo and Lobos de Canastica achieved crucial victories, securing their place in the next phase of the tournament.
Semifinal Duels Red Hot
In the first match of the night, Pueblo Nuevo tied the series against Buitres de Lavapiés with a score of 89-82. Gerardo Suero led the offense with 30 points and 12 rebounds, demonstrating his value on the court. Juan Miguel Suero contributed 15 points, consolidating the strength of the Suero duo.
For the Buitres, Rey Abad stood out with 16 points and 22 rebounds, followed by Jeremy Rivera with 14 units, although their efforts were not enough to secure the victory.
The Canastica Wolves secured their spot in the final by defeating Ciro Pérez with a score of 68-62.

The Canastica Wolves become the first finalists of the TBS San Cristóbal 2025, awaiting the result between Pueblo Nuevo and Buitres, who will face each other in a decisive third game.
The tournament, in its 35th edition, has maintained a high competitive level and full support from the public. The event is organized by the San Cristóbal Basketball Association (ABASANCRIS), under the direction of its president Eddy Montás.
The tournament is backed by the Ministry of Sports and Recreation (MIDEREC), headed by engineer Kelvin Cruz, and sponsored by Banco de Reservas, with Dr. Leonardo Aguilera as executive president.
The general admission has a cost of 100 pesos, allowing access to a first-class show. The grand final of the tournament, scheduled in the 5-3 format, will begin this Friday.
The TBS 2025 continues to consolidate as one of the most important tournaments of superior basketball in the country, thanks to the collective effort of the sports authorities, the private sector, the clubs and, above all, to the faithful support of the fans.
