Jasper Philipsen takes the first stage of the Tour de France and the yellow jersey
Lille, France – Belgian cyclist Jasper Philipsen won the first stage of the Tour de France, demonstrating his superiority in the final sprint and securing the first yellow jersey of the 2025 edition.
Philipsen, from the Alpecin team, displayed an outstanding performance during the stage, staying in the lead group despite the splits caused by the echelons in the final stretch of the race.
The runner counted on the crucial support of his teammates, especially Mathieu van der Poel, who played a fundamental role in launching Philipsen towards victory.
This triumph represents Philipsen’s tenth victory in the prestigious Tour de France.
