Mia Lugo Shines at the Pan American Gymnastics Championships
Santo Domingo, R.D. – The young Dominican gymnast Mia Lugo, representing the Naco Sports Club and the Elite Project of the Dominican Gymnastics Federation, achieved a successful performance in the 2025 Pan American Children’s and Youth Artistic Gymnastics Cup, held in El Salvador from November 4 to 6. Lugo won three bronze medals, demonstrating her talent and dedication in the competition. With only 14 years old, Lugo competed in the FIG Junior category, excelling in the disciplines of vault, uneven bars, and floor routine. Her performance showed remarkable technical mastery, admirable sports maturity, and a promising international projection. The event featured the participation of gymnasts from 12 countries, including Venezuela, Colombia, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, Nicaragua, Trinidad & Tobago, Cayman Islands, El Salvador and the Dominican Republic.Lugo, who is also a student at the Serafín de Asís School, began his training at the Gymnastics School of the Naco Sports Club from the age of seven, showing exceptional qualities for this sport since then. Mía Lugo’s achievements solidify the progress of Dominican artistic gymnastics and reflect the commitment of the coaching staff, the Dominican Gymnastics Federation, and the talent of the young athlete, who continues to position herself as one of the brightest prospects in the country.Her coach, Yoandris Tamayo, highlighted the young athlete’s focus, discipline, and constant progress.
