Santo Domingo – Marileidy Paulino, the outstanding Dominican sprinter, achieved fourth place in the 200-meter dash at the Diamond League meet held in Lausanne, Switzerland, as part of the Athletissima meeting.

Paulino recorded a time of 22.43 seconds in a race where American Brittany Brown took first place with 22.23 seconds. Nigerian Favour Ofili (22.31) and Ivorian Marie-Josée Ta Lou-Smith (22.37) completed the podium.

This event served as preparation for Paulino, who will focus his efforts on the 400-meter dash, his specialty.

The athlete has already secured her place in the Diamond League final, which will take place on August 28 in Zurich, where she will seek to maintain her dominance in the 400 meters.

The athlete from Nizao, who has shown great consistency throughout the season, is emerging as one of the favorites for the Tokyo World Athletics Championships (September 13-21).
