Luismal Ferreiras, Player of the Week in the LNB
SANTO DOMINGO – Luismal Ferreiras was recognized as the Player of the Week 1 in the LNB Super League, thanks to his outstanding performance between April 14 and 19.
In the three victories of the Gigantes Basketball Club, Ferreiras demonstrated an average of 20.6 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game. His field goal percentage was 60%, and from the free throw line, 75%.
His most outstanding performance occurred on April 15 against the Leones de Santo Domingo, at the San Carlos Club. In that game, Ferreiras scored 30 points, with an impressive 15 of 18 in field goals, and achieved 12 rebounds, 7 of them offensive.
Sports journalists covering the league awarded Ferreiras 32 of the 78 votes cast, surpassing Charles Brown Jr., also of the Giants, who received 27 votes.
Brown Jr. also had an outstanding performance, averaging 27.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 3.3 steals, with 53% field goal efficiency.
Reggie Quezada, from the Lions, received votes after averaging 29.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games.
