SANTO DOMINGO – The Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) announced the postponement of the two games scheduled for Thursday, October 23, 2025. This decision was made due to the indirect effects of Tropical Storm Melissa on the national territory.

Suspended Matches

The affected meetings are:
  • Gigantes del Cibao vs. Tigres del Licey, originally scheduled for the Quisqueya Juan Marichal stadium (rescheduled from October 17th).
  • Águilas Cibaeñas vs. Estrellas Orientales, planned at the Tetelo Vargas stadium in San Pedro de Macorís, corresponding to the suspended game on October 21st.
LIDOM took this measure after consulting its meteorological advisor, Jean Suriel. The decision was made in compliance with the recommendations of the emergency and meteorological authorities, who advised against mass activities given the adverse weather conditions. The league has reiterated that the safety of the players, fans, and operational staff is its main concern in these situations. The new date for the celebration of both parties will be announced soon.
