SANTO DOMINGO.- The Leones del Escogido strengthen their roster with an important acquisition from the Gigantes del Cibao, adding key talent for the season. The movement involves pitchers Wilkin Ramos and Ángel Sánchez, along with infielder Jeral Pérez, as well as a fourth-round pick from the 2026 Rookie Draft. In return, the Giants receive Jimmy Cordero, Fernando Abad, Wilber Dotel, and outfielder Ricardo Céspedes.

Wilkin Ramos, 25 years old, has proven his worth in the minor leagues of the Pittsburgh Pirates, compiling a 4-4 record, a 2.64 ERA, 7 saves, a 1.02 WHIP, and 68 strikeouts in 64.2 innings. He was selected by the Giants in the 2023 rookie draft. Ángel Sánchez, 36 years old, brings experience from his time with the Giants, where he accumulated 17.1 innings with an effectiveness of 3.12 and 17 strikeouts. His career includes participation in Major Leagues with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2017, as well as experience in South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. Jeral Pérez, 21 years old, stands out for his versatility in the infield. He comes from a standout season in the Minor Leagues, where he hit 22 home runs and drove in 70 runs in the Class A+ of the Chicago White Sox. The three players will be added to the Lions’ weekly roster this Tuesday.
