Abu Dhabi, UAE. British driver Lando Norris, representing McLaren, was crowned the new Formula 1 world champion in 2025. This happened after securing third position in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the last race of the season, held at the Yas Marina circuit. The competition was led by Max Verstappen of Red Bull, who already has four world titles and has dominated the last four editions. Oscar Piastri, Norris’s teammate at McLaren, secured second place, resulting in an outstanding performance for the team. At 26 years old, Norris becomes the eleventh Briton to obtain a Formula 1 world title. He managed to dethrone Verstappen and finished the championship with 423 points, surpassing Verstappen by only two points and Piastri by thirteen.
