Santo Domingo, RD. – The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kelvin Cruz, began this Thursday the construction of two multipurpose roofs in the Bayona and Ensanche Altagracia sectors, located in the municipality of Santo Domingo Oeste. The total investment in these sports facilities exceeds 49 million pesos and is part of the program for the construction and repair of sports spaces promoted by the Ministry of Sports in Greater Santo Domingo, with the support of President Luis Abinader. The Iván Klang Guzmán clubs, from Bayona, and Quinto Centenario, from Ensanche La Altagracia, join the 30 sectors that have already benefited from multi-purpose roofing in Gran Santo Domingo. The simultaneous inaugural act of both constructions was held on the court of the Iván Klang Guzmán club and was headed by Minister Cruz, along with authorities from Santo Domingo Oeste. The investment allocated to the Iván Klang Guzmán club amounts to RD$ 25,952,809, while the Quinto Centenario club will receive an investment of RD$ 23,706,337.
The minister added that these works seek to address the needs of these sectors, highlighting that previously there was only one roof in Santo Domingo Oeste, which was deteriorated and has already been rebuilt. The mayor of Santo Domingo Oeste, Francisco Peña, accompanied the minister at the event, along with deputies Indir de Jesús and Ignacio Aracena. Also present were Escarlet Benzan, Félix Grullón, José Moya and Francisco Campusano. Both facilities will be renovated in play areas, stands, perimeter fencing and outdoor areas. Digital whiteboards, professional supports with FIBA boards, synthetic floors and ceilings with metal structure, among other improvements, will be installed.Today we completed this great work in Santo Domingo, where 31 sports facilities are being built simultaneously with an investment of 800 million pesos, thanks to the vision and sensitivity towards sports of President Luis Abinader.
