Aaron Judge Ties Joe DiMaggio on Yankees Home Run List

Star slugger Aaron Judge continues to make his mark in New York Yankees history. In Thursday’s game against the Detroit Tigers at Yankee Stadium, Judge hit two home runs that catapulted him to a new milestone. With these two home runs, Judge has accumulated 361 in his career, tying him with the legend Joe DiMaggio for fourth place all-time in the franchise. Judge, who already has 45 and 46 home runs in the current season, joins a select group of great hitters in the team’s history, led by Babe Ruth (659), Mickey Mantle (536), and Lou Gehrig (493). The Yankees captain had recently surpassed Yogi Berra (358), solidifying his position as one of the organization’s great sluggers.

Career home run No. 360 for Aaron Judge goes a very long way 💪

The first hit of the night traveled 413 feet at 110.1 mph, according to Statcast. The second, in the third inning against Sawyer Gipson-Long, was shot out at 114.9 mph, traveling 434 feet to the back of the Tigers’ bullpen. With this outstanding performance, Judge reached 45 games with multiple home runs in his career, the third-most in Yankees history, surpassed only by Ruth (68) and Mantle (46). In addition, his teammate Giancarlo Stanton also hit a home run in the same inning, marking the 56th time that both hitters have hit home runs in the same game, including postseason games, which highlights the offensive power of the “Bronx Bombers” in the final stretch of the season. Judge, 33, continues to write his name in golden letters in the pinstripes, now sharing a place of privilege with one of the greatest icons of baseball.
