Juan has requested permission four times in the last two weeks. Just 45 minutes ago we requested it again together and the answer is still no, although they told us they might communicate something to us between today and the next few days.

Audo Vicente, general manager of the Tigres del Licey
Audo Vicente, general manager of the Tigres del Licey, confirmed Soto’s presence during an interview on the Diamante Deportivo program. Vicente explained that Soto has requested permission to play on several occasions, but has not yet received approval from the Mets. Vicente added that Soto feels in optimal physical condition to play, and that the Licey manager, Gilbert Gómez, has also managed the permission from the Major League team. Soto, who signed a historic $760 million contract, seeks to play in the LIDOM, motivated by a family commitment and the desire to connect with the fans. The player maintains his training routine at the Quisqueya Stadium while awaiting a definitive decision from the Mets.
